Between the 27th September and 6th October the Priory Rooms Meeting and Conference Centre will be taking part in Quaker Outreach Week; the sharing of information on Quaker convictions, beliefs and practices with the general public.

Take a moment during your meeting held at The Priory Rooms to visit the information table in reception, with flyers and booklets offering an insight into the religion.

Alternatively bring family and friends to The Priory Rooms during National Heritage Open Days this September, when Bull Street Quaker Meeting House is opening their doors to the public free of charge.

National Heritage Open Days was established by the now defunct Civic Trust in 1994 as England’s contribution to the European Heritage Days. It began with 700 sites, that are not normally open for the public, being opened free of charge in September for four consecutive days. The event is now managed by Heritage Open Days National Partnership, participation has now doubled and the list of sites being opened become more wonderful and varied each year.

Heritage Open Days celebrates the historical venues and attractions within local districts that make these areas unique. The participants aim to encourage discovery and a sense of pride to bring communities together.

On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, Bull Street Quaker Meeting House will proudly be taking part in Heritage Open Days. Between 1.00pm-5.00pm visitors will have the opportunity to look around the 1930’s building whilst learning more about the history of the venue and the Quaker religion.

Volunteers from the Bull Street Quaker Community will provide informative show-rounds, sharing their memories of the building and answer any questions. There will be an exhibition commemorating Quaker Service in World War 1 and World War 2 and current Quaker Service. Light refreshments will be available in the Atrium; a bright, modern addition to the building which leads to the purpose-built meeting and conference rooms.

You may wish to learn more about the Quaker religion, meet new people and experience Quaker worship, in which case join the next Quaker Quest at The Priory Rooms on Saturday 28th September.
