The Phone Co-op is an independent consumer co-operative based in Chipping Norton, with offices in London and Manchester. Of all the businesses offering phone, broadband and mobile services The Phone Co-op are the only co-operative; run by a group of people united by shared values, shared ownership and democratically made decisions. The Phone Co-op chose The Priory Rooms for their AGM because it is a not-for-profit organisation committed to sustainable and ethical business policies. Easy to get to by public transport, The Priory Rooms’ Main Meeting House is a unique conference space for 200 delegates. The state of the art AV and PA equipment compliment the impressive staged area to deliver presentations from.

The AGM’s guest speaker was Joe Meir from Fairphone promoting The Phone Co-op’s ethical mobile phone-the first to put social values first. Fairphone is an android phone made with conflict free minerals, built in a factory with a worker-controlled welfare fund and it has a sustainable design.

At the end of a thoroughly successful event Amanda Beard, Secretary, Membership & Co-operative Affairs Manager at The Phone Co-op Ltd who organised the AGM, praised The Priory Rooms saying “Thank you to the whole team for the excellent service.” The Phone Co-op staff and members were extremely impressed by the venue’s facilities and sustainable catering and refreshments!
