On Sunday 9th November Central England Quakers warmly welcomes local Quakers to celebrate the launch of the Peace Hub Centre on their open day.

From 2pm the Peace Hub will open its doors for the first time to the public. Guests are invited to meet at the Bull Street Meeting House for a reception with light refreshments with tours of the new Hub being held throughout the afternoon. There will also be a performance of a new short play called “Over the Top” at 3pm, which explores Quakers and World War One.

Quakers believe that a peaceful world is possible if we work together in our own lives and build local, national and international structures that support peace and justice. Central England Quakers’ Peace Hub will be a centre for Quakers, the wider peace movement and the general public who sympathise with this call for action to join together.

From Monday 10th November, open weekdays 11.00-14.30, the Peace Hub will deliver a rolling programme of themes to inform and stimulate dialogue on peace and justice; encourage people to affirm the humanity of others; and provide opportunities for people to take action through advocacy, solidarity and positive changes in our everyday lives. The centre will also support community and interfaith cohesion and to uphold activists and groups working for peace and justice.
