The Priory Rooms are a not-for-profit meeting and conference centre, donating a large proportion of profits to Central England Quakers. This July saw The Priory Rooms donate in excess of £5,000, supporting their charity projects The West Midlands Quaker Peace Project, Northfield Eco-centre and The Hope Project. So you can book meetings at The Priory Rooms knowing you are helping to make a valuable contribution to the local community.

ceq_image.jpgCentral England Quakers keep Quakers in touch with one another across the West Midlands and share their faith and practice with others. They run several Quaker Projects based in Birmingham which amongst many things promote conflict resolution and sustainability within communities.

The West Midlands Quaker Peace Project work with adults and children in local schools, developing skills for conflict resolution and raising awareness of the benefits. This June they co-hosted the 2013 Peaceful Primary Schools Conference where nationwide education staffs met to discuss peace education.

Northfield Eco-centre brings the local community together and educates them about protecting the environment. They offer free, independent advice about energy saving services to households, schools and businesses. They run green-inspired family activities during the summer holidays; “EcoKids” offers crafts and nature trails for younger children and “Family Forest School” includes den making, climbing trees and building fires.

The Hope Project provide peace building skills consultancy with projects all over the world. Launched in 1994 they worked with West Midlands Quaker Peace Project in local schools. They now concentrate on improving education in the remote rural communities of Uganda, including funding towards school building, teachers and work in conflict resolution.

The Priory Rooms are delighted to help Central England Quakers continue to support these worthy charities and wish them every success with their on-going projects.
